Not only is planning time consuming, but often plans find their ways into storage rather than implementation. Having the right tools can make all the difference.

Planning is time-consuming for school and district administrators. Most administrators will admit that despite the hours required to create the required plans, they end up in a drawer, filed away. Yet, there is a reason we plan.

Strategic planning has been shown to increase performance. And we all want to see our students succeed and grow.

A 2019 research study reviewed 31 empirical studies to find correlations on how, if at all, strategic planning improves organizational performance. The Findings: strategic planning as a positive and significant impact on organizational performance, in both public and private sectors.

However, how you plan matters. To improve performance, planning committees should conduct analysis as well as create goals, strategies, and action steps.

These findings from 31 studies should be reassuring to school leaders. The pain of the formality of creating annual plans is not for naught, if done intentionally.

Therein lies the problem: Despite the evidence that planning benefits performance, administrators do not have the time and resources to plan according to best practices.

Plan Forward is dedicated to partnering with districts and schools to give them the resources and support they need to plan intentionally and get the results from their efforts.  The SMART Goal Calculator and Suggested Strategies, along with evidence-best implementation steps, give data-driven guidance for creating plans with more accuracy and efficiency.  This allows administrators to lead in developing a goal-driven culture and establishing implementation steps that have been shown to work.

Take the guesswork out of planning and start getting results!
